65 MW / 260 MWh BESS commissioned in Tenevo

Renalfa IPP, a Vienna based developer and independent power producer, commissioned a 65 MW / 260 MWh BESS in its hybrid renewable energy project in Tenevo, Bulgaria. This is one of the biggest co-located BESS projects in Europe to date. With recent commissioning, Renalfa IPP exceeds the key milestone of over 1 GWh of energy storage in operation.
The Tenevo Hybrid Renewable project is developed by Tenevo Solar Technology, a partnership between Eurowind Energy an dRenalfa IPP. Delivered in collaboration with Solarpro Bulgaria as project manager and with battery technology from Hithium/Kehua, the system is now fully operational.
This marks the first phase of a total planned238 MWp solar and 315 MW / 760 MWh BESS that are expected to be fully operational in early 2026, thus forming Bulgaria’s largest hybrid energy project, integrating solar, wind and battery storage. Backed by strong partnerships and proven technology, the project is designed for long-term performance and impact. It represents the kind of integrated energy solutions we see as essential to meeting future energy demands.
